GRRRR
Hi Buds

I just spoke with the pastor of the church where my profile was sent for an associate pastor position. For the second time in a row, they have chosen to "release me" from the interview process without an interview. Does this make sense to you, it doesn't to me

What they want in an associate pastor is me with the exception of being an excelent teacher and someone who preaches like they have had ten years experience. Hmmm maybe the problem was that I was honest on my papers and told them the truth.

I am cranky, mad, feel cheated again, and feel frustrated. You jerks (not you buds) I am a good pastor! I have been praying about where God wants me to go with my service Pastor or Chaplain - I really really want to be a chaplain, maybe this is a hint. Don't know. Just know for now I am grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Thanks for letting me rant

*hugs to LJville*

OK, I'm ingnorant. I mean, I kinda know, but could you explain the difference in the career paths between pastor and chaplain? I know you'd be excellent at either...

A chaplain is an institutional pastor... ie. working in a hospital or the like.

Thanks Ashtur, that's what I thought. So potentially, if one was to work at a hospital, or shelter, or military facility, the population you would be ministering to would be constantly changing. But at a school, not so much. Still, the duties, and challenges, are quite different from being at a church. Cool.

It does. I was helped out a bit by a chaplain when I was in college. I always thought that was a neat job.

Hey, I know the drill. It will play through in the end, and odds are, when you get there, you'll realize it was worth the wait. I know the frustration all too well though, as you know.

Thanks bud. Hurry up and wait. Don't know the more I wait the more certain I become that I don't want another church. I did a full year of CPR (clinical pastoral education training to be a chaplain) and loved it. Lots of hours, lots of stress, but I loved it.

Keep us in your prayers that things work out. Thanks.

Oh! I'm sorry. Why is it that people are so quick to rule out those who may "lack experience" but will be fabulous once given the opportunity to actually do the job? It disgusts me. I'm sorry.

*hugs* Sometimes, life is almost too hard.

That is the question. Its tough, but I also know God knows where God wants me to be. But I am not good at waiting. I made some calls about finding a chaplain position and did make some progress.
Thanks and Go Rockies!

They are clearly fools and idiots if they can't see how great a pastor you'd be. Grrr.

But keep at it. God has a place for both you and Kit - it's just that He works on a broader timescale than we do so sometimes His purposes can take a little while to make themselves clear.
